TRACY CARTER 1946 - 2025 Our longtime co-founder and member of RendevouX, Tracy Carter, left this earthly existence and was promoted to the big band in heaven on January 25, 2025 after battling health issues over the past couple of years. Tracy's leadership and influence within the Tulsa music scene, and in particular, with RendevouX over the past 18 years was significant. His legacy will remain a major part of the group and we will miss his steady guidance as a musician, business leader, philosopher, jokester, and all-around good guy. He was our friend and inspiration. RIP Tracy - you deserve a huge hug from our Lord and Savior. Please save a spot on the stage for us. ___________________________________________________ OUR STORY The essence of RendevouX is grounded in the roots of the Tulsa Sound era from the 1960’s. The blended guitar work from Bryan Smith and Kim Knapp highlight the instrumentation of RendevouX. And, Steve Berry’s drumming foundations with Steamer’s Trunk, James Mobley & the Bo Jives, as well as Johnny Fisher & The Grand Jury is as solid as ever for the steady rhythmic beat of RendevouX. Les Thomas provides an impeccable bass guitar foundation for the group. The best part, though, is hearing the incredible voice of Russ Angell who provides most of the lead vocals for this group. And, to cap it off, all members of the group supply vocal harmonies that can turn heads. The genre of music is primarily good old rock & roll from the late 50’s, the 60’s, and the early 70’s with some blues, ballads, southern rock, and country & western scattered among the set sheets. Covers from the following artists are common: Delbert McClinton, Elvis, Chuck Berry, the Beatles, The Eagles, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Kentucky Headhunters, Van Morrison, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Temptations, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Dwight Yoakam, and many others. Our HistoryThe founding members of RendevouX first established this project in 2008, and although there have been a few personnel changes over the years, the commitment to providing quality, professional entertainment has always been the goal. The consistent reviews and crowd following has validated our success towards that goal.
